Dicyclomine Hydrochloride

Dicyclomine Hydrochloride is an anticholinergic and antispasmodic medication. It works by blocking the action of acetylcholine on muscarinic receptors on gastrointestinal smooth muscle, thereby reducing muscle spasms and relieving abdominal cramping and discomfort.

Dosage by Body Weight

The usual starting dose for adults is 20 mg taken orally four times daily, which may be increased to 40 mg four times daily depending on response and tolerability. It is typically taken 30 to 60 minutes before meals. Avoid use in infants under 6 months of age.
